2008_03_21-459.jpg After we unpacked the van (that had been packed during the fire), and put everything away, and kind of settled down, and Kit did 64,231 loads of laundry, we noticed that it was a fairly calm-after-the-storm sort of day so kit & ch’t went into the Paa Mul bay for a snorkel. They had a great time and convinced me to give it another try. Of course, by the time I got down to the water, the wind and waves had picked up. But in we went and it was a bit hard to see, but we did see many fish and I felt I’d redeemed myself by taking a swim without freaking out.

We got back a little late, but I wanted to go to Jan Ten before heading out to dinner. And as it was my birthday, I was calling the shots! I’m so glad we did because it was much calmer than the other day and the girls went in without their life jackets and had a wonderful time. We found a spot where the sand was flour-soft and we just dug around and pulled up sand, letting it spill thru our fingers over and over. The girls and I played in the surf and Ch’t had a nap on the shore. He eventually came in the water and enjoyed the soft waves and sand too. It was really idyllic & I’m so glad we went.

We cleaned up a bit and then went out to dinner in Playa – at one of their favorite places – El Fogon – the waiters recognized the boys right away and took terrific care of us. The food was fantastic as usual and we filled our bellies with tacos and home-made horchata and jimica bebidas.

One of the nicest bdays I’ve had in years and years.
